ESG:
The purpose of the ESG Initiative Team is to provide education as it relates to global sustainability regulations that affect external contract manufacturers (ECMs) while developing a comprehensive approach to reporting sustainability metrics as requested by such ECMs customer (CPGs) globally.
ESG regulations have and will continue to be deployed across the globe. To date, there is no single reporting framework that addresses each of these regulations and provides a repository of templates for such information. ECMs are being asked by their CPGs to complete unique reports which has become a cumbersome, time-consuming process.
The ESG/Sustainability team seeks to develop a reporting format that meets most of the reporting requirements while providing a platform for access to these templates by ECMs and CPGs.
Meetings are held online at 11 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Please email pjarvi@f4ss.org to receive your invitation.
CPG Benchmarking:
The CPG Initiative Team is focused on benchmarking Supply Chain processes, practices and procedures for the group to discuss and collaborate around. Topics for the group include:
- Strategy setting with the business - what are the key focus areas for an External Contract Manufacturer (ECM )that are aligned to the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) strategy
- How CPGs are structured to support ECM relationships
- The experiences, skills, and behaviors of a successful ECM leader
- Guiding principles for an effective use of an ECM by CPGs
- Make versus Buy decision criteria - opportunistic versus strategic
- How do CPGs manage projects with ECMs?

Digitization:
Black holes are a common supply chain problem, caused by the lack of visibility into data, processes and workflows - Contract manufacturing is a black hole. The Digitization team creates meaningful, useful and pragmatic projects & programs to deliver significant results for your business.
Areas of focus include:
- Supply Chain Maturity – Exploring the model and tools/techniques to gauge your maturity along with how to quantify potential impacts from maturity investments.
- End to End Synchronization & Orchestration – How these areas impact (or hinder) the ability to move up the maturity curve and reap benefit and best practices improvement
- People, Process & Tools – Discussing key attributes and stumbling blocks for each area, how they function collectively to ensure success, and resources/solutions available.
- Best Practices – Share experiences and insights from past and on-going improvements areas between team participants
